The PROBUS Club of Prince Edward County was formed in late Summer, 2018. The current membership (mid-2023) is in excess of 200.
Only members can sign up for social & entertainment activities. Those attending as a guest cannot do so until the membership application process is complete. That process is described in this downloadable document.
Our membership application form [updated] is available by emailing your request to countyprobus@gmail.com.
All of this web site is accessible to members. Non-members may access most portions of the site, but some parts of the content are inaccessible as a members’ privacy measure.
Waiver / Assumption of Risk
All members are required to sign an activity waiver, which will be sent along with the application form. Vaccination Policy for the PROBUS Club of Prince Edward County is that all members of the PROBUS Club of Prince Edward County are to be fully vaccinated to participate in PROBUS activities. New members confirm their vaccination when they sign the Waiver.
Membership list
Per the by-laws of the Club the membership list is emailed to members on an annual basis. Note that this list is only to be used for PROBUS activities and any other use is strictly prohibited.
Monthly Meetings
We offer two options to meeting attendees: in-person or virtually on Zoom™ (initiated during Covid but continued in response to member requests). In person is more fun!
We seek to engage guest speakers for the monthly meetings on a range of interesting topics. Members make suggestions to the Chair of Monthly Programs and the presentations cover a very wide range of topics. The PROBUS presenters historical list can be reviewed if you click here
Meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month at the Elks/Legion Hall at 21 Elks Street, Picton [map below]. There are no meetings in July or August.
Doors open 9:30am; meeting starts 10:00am. Meetings generally run until noon.
Non-members are welcome to attend regular monthly PROBUS meetings as the guest of a member. They will be asked to sign in at the door and indicate the member they are a guest of. They will also be expected to pay the $3.00 meeting fee.
Newsletter
We issue a monthly e-newsletter to members, containing reports on activities and announcements of future speakers, future events, and future opportunities, etc.

Each month, we publish a Adobe™pdf newsletter which is sent to all members
